When you first publish a blog post, it might feel overwhelming to know that you need to start sharing it on social media. Creating and publishing a blog post is already time consuming, and social media can also add additional hours to your busy blog life. There are a few things that you can do to promote your content that are easy and effortless, and you can start these strategies today!
StumbleUpon. This is a tried and true method of sharing and discovering new content. If you are not setup on StumbleUpon, create an account today. The main idea of this website is to “thumbs up” and “stumble” through content online. There is a simple extension that you can add to your Chrome or Firefox browsers to make surfing through StumbleUpon a breeze.
When used consistently, StumbleUpon can send over a large spike in traffic to certain posts. If you’re new to StumbleUpon, you can stop by the Bloggers Get Social Facebook group and participate in one of the daily Stumble threads.
CoPromote. This tool helps put your Facebook shares, tweets, Instagram images, Vines, YouTube videos, and Tumblr posts in front of new audiences. You simply “boost” your latest social media share that promotes your blog posts or products. You then earn reach by sharing other people’s content. You can share items that are relevant to your niche (For example, recipes or how to posts), and your content will be shared by others as well.
Use Facebook Groups. Join a few Facebook groups for bloggers in your niche. Read the rules and guidelines and start making friends! Facebook groups helped boost my blog when I Wasn’t even looking. I simply participated daily, joined in the challenges or comment threads, and I watched my numbers increase. An increase in numbers helped me secure sponsorship with different brands, and it is something that was easy for me to do daily.
Try Link In Profile on Instagram. Instagram is a popular social media network for bloggers, however, you cannot add clickable links to your captions. The question of just exactly HOW to get Instagram users to your blog posts can be answered with the tool Link in Profile. You add your account link to your Instagram profile, and it automatically adds your Instagram images to a webpage that is “clickable.” This is a paid service, but it is worth it!
Create an Email Sequence. If you don’t have a newsletter list yet, now is the time to start one. When you get into the groove of sending regular blog post updates to your list, consider starting an email sequence. A sequence is an automatic series of emails that shares your best work. For example, you would first send an email to promote your latest blog post. Your next email would include your latest blog post and similar links. If you have a monthly newsletter, you would feature that same new post along with information that can’t be found on your blog like a personal story about why you wrote the post or a behind the scenes photo.
Sometimes you just need a new strategy for different results. If you need fresh ways to promote your content, try one of these five strategies.
